Prof. Zhigeng Pan from Hangzhou Normal University visited CHEC and gave a lecture entitled "Physical Interaction in Virtual Reality: Research and Development".
Abstract
In this talk, the history and state of the art of physical interaction are presented. Based on the research results of the Key NSFC project, I will discuss the content, technical problems, and solving methods of physical interaction. Then some case studies are presented, and the future of this direction is estimated.
Bio
Prof. Zhigeng Pan is the Vice President of China Society of Image and Graphics, Director of Institute of VR & Intelligent System, Hangzhou Normal University, China, Deputy Director of Technical Committee on VR and Visualization of CCF and Director of Institute of VR Research in Industry, Guangdong Province, China.
Prof. Zhigeng Pan got his Ph.D. degree in 1993, and he became a full professor at Zhejiang University in 1996 because of his excellent academic performance. He has published more than 100 technical papers on important journals (such as PAMI, TVCG, IEEE Multimedia...) and conferences (such as ACM Multimedia, IEEE VR, et al). He is a member of IEEE, ACM SIGGRAPH. His research interests include VR and HCI. Currently, he is the Editor-in-Chief of <
