Abstract

Evolution of human visual system took millions of years, it might not be perfect yet, but much better than any of artificial vision system, in term of energy efficiency and so on. Most artificial visual systems developed in use today, are consisted of camera and computer, like eye and brain for human being, but with a very simple linkage model between two parts, comparing to human being’s model. The linkage model between eye and brain is quite complex and energy efficient, even we do not know that clearly in deep. In this talk, I will discuss how we can improve the linkage model between camera and computer, called digital retina, to make the artificial vision system smart.
